Our Services
Reading Intervention
Using the Barton Reading and Spelling program: a systemic, targeted, Orton Gillingham approach, I aim to fill in the gaps for struggling readers.
This intervention provides additional strategies and activities to boost reading skills in the areas of decoding, comprehension, fluency and vocabulary for struggling readers. Using this program, and meeting 1:1 for one hour twice per week my students gain an average of 2 grade levels per school year, closing the gap quickly and efficiently.
Brain Integration
Does your child struggle with focus, attention, staying on the line while reading? If so, brain integration may be a helpful approach for them.
Brain integration is a technique used to improve left/right brain connectivity using applied kinesiology and acupressure. Through a series of 15 targeted and specific sessions, the neural pathways in your child's brain can be re-patterned for optimal efficiency.
Brain Integration (BIT) was first formally used in the 1950’s by Dr. Doman, MD, and his colleague Delacato, who was a PT. Clearly understanding how that physical movement impacts the brain, they are credited with developing psychomotor patterning, and sensory integration principles. These are the same principles I use in my practice.
Language Arts Intervention and Instruction
Does your child just need a little boost with comprehension, spelling or the writing process?
I can help remedy this with fun games and a plethora of hands on Orton Gillingham methods. In addition to in person sessions, I offer online essay editing for highschool students who wish to write more effectively.
